Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about ABA therapy or getting started? Here are answers to some of the things families ask us most.
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) uses what we know about how children learn to help them build everyday skills like communicating, playing with others, and getting through daily routines, while easing the things that make learning hard. Our child-led approach uses your child's interests and strengths to build trust and engagement while our clinical team provides clear, individualized guidance toward meaningful goals.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) builds and oversees your child's program, and trained behavior technicians run the daily sessions. The BCBA does the initial assessment, writes the plan, and keeps a close eye on progress along the way.
We focus on early intervention and work mostly with young children, since starting early tends to make the biggest difference. When we meet for the assessment, we'll talk through your child's age, needs, and goals to make sure we're the right fit.
We specialize in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you're not sure about a diagnosis or what your insurance needs, just reach out. We're glad to walk you through it and point you the right way.
It starts with an assessment by a BCBA to get a full picture of your child: their strengths, where they need help, and what to work toward. From there we build a plan together. Reach out and we'll set up a first consultation.
Sessions are built around your child and usually look a lot like play. We use their interests and strengths to build trust and engagement, then weave communication, social, and daily living goals into motivating activities. Our clinical team still provides the structure and guidance needed to help your child make meaningful progress.
We deliver services in whatever setting works best for your child's goals. As Guiding Little Steps grows into a clinic setting, we plan to add social groups and peer programs too. We'll go over the options with you at the assessment.
You're a big part of this. We coach you on your child's goals and the strategies behind them, so progress keeps going at home and not just in sessions. Working closely with families is central to how we do things.
We track real, practical progress, the kind that shows up in everyday life. We keep data on your child's goals and celebrate the wins along the way, whether that's a first word, doing something on their own, or getting through a tricky routine.
Get in touch and we'll go over insurance, funding, and payment options with you. We'll handle the confusing parts as much as we can, so you can focus on your child.
Still have questions? We'd love to help.
